St Georges Hill, Surrey, UK, 2011

Nestled at the base of a landscaped garden, a newly constructed pool building discreetly integrates with the natural surroundings. Designed to seamlessly blend into the landscape, the 18-meter pool effortlessly extends to the lower decking areas, creating a harmonious connection with the outdoors. The innovative design features sliding windows that fully retract behind fixed brickwork panels, offering an unobstructed view of the serene surroundings. Beyond its aquatic function, the building houses showers, changing facilities, and a concealed sauna, allowing glimpses through a "one-way mirror" into the captivating underwater world. Illuminated with meticulous artificial lighting, the pool house serves as an enchanting focal point, operable from within the main house to accentuate its presence as a captivating folly within the landscape.
